Any Questions?
Katrina
The RSVP deadline is November 1st, 2022. Please let us know whether or not you'll be able to make it by then.
Unfortunately, no. We are limited in the number of guests that can attend and so we will only be able to accommodate the guests named on the invitations.
No, we have been living together for four years and have everything we need, so we decided that there's no reason to have a gift registry. If you feel compelled, we will accept cash contributions to our Honeymoon fund.
You'll be in good company with semi-formal attire. Dressy casual / business casual is also entirely acceptable. Sage green will be a prominent wedding colour, so you may want to avoid it if you're not in the wedding party.
Both! The ceremony will be outdoors just outside the venue on the patio and the reception will take place inside.
Assuming the last few years are typical for mid-February weather in Oakland, we can probably expect the weather to be fair or partly cloudly. It might be something like 55-61 °F (12.5-16 °C) as guests are arriving with a high of 57-69 °F (14-20.5 °C) as we transition from ceremony to reception, falling back down to 51-56 °F (10.5-13 °C) by the end of reception. For San Francisco in February more generally, you can probably expect 48-61 °F (8.5-16 °C).
There will be an open bar, but because the venue does not allow hard liquor, only beer & wine will be available.
You will need US-issued government ID or a foreign passport to get drinks from the bar. An Ontario driver's license will not cut it! It's too early for us to know what COVID-19 restrictions (if any) may be active when the wedding takes place, but it's probably a good idea to have a mask on-hand just in case.
There isn't exactly a theme, but the wedding will have elements celebrating Disney and board games (c'mon, what did you expect from us?).
We'd prefer it if guests kept their phones and cameras away during the ceremony, unless specifically told otherwise. Our photographer Brooke will be there to capture the ceremony and may want to take some photos of the guests at certain moments. If guests are continuously holding their arms up during the ceremony this will make her job more difficult. We do welcome photos and video from everyone during the reception though!
Baking and floral will be taken care of by Katrina. Special shoutouts to Alex M., who will be our officiant, Kayla, who will be Katrina's MUAH, Mark, who will be our emcee, and Nick, who will be assisting with the audio equipment.
No, we decided not to hire a DJ because dancing isn't going to be a central focus at our wedding. Instead we will prepare a playlist in advance that a few people (read: not DJs) will have access to change on the fly. If you would like to volunteer to help us with this, let Lucas know.
Reach out to either of us and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
